The gang minus Cody - he's in the truck "didn't want to walk that far" pfft!
Enjoying the beauty!
Up on the bridge.

Billy and Gram
We had the privilege to take the day and head to Oregon while Gram was on her trip out here to see us. I had promised Brandon that before the summer was over I would take him on a ride on a train.....Well I barely made good on that promise, but decided to make a trip to Portland, getting a trip to the zoo, the waterfall, which they absolutely love, and the train ride all over with on one LONG day trip! When I mentioned the idea to Gram the very first night she arrived, she was on board! Gram had never been to Oregon before and is always up for an adventure! We headed out a little later than planned about 8:40 AM, stopped and had breakfast at the Brandon Iron in Toppenish and arrived at Multanomah Falls, one of my personal favorites, at about 12:30 or so - behind schedule, absolutely, but there is no way we were going to drive past the falls without letting the little ones see it again, and besides Gram was very much looking forward to the site of the falls. Something that has never happened to me the many, many times I have been to the falls happened, a freight trained passed right over us on it's tracks as we walked under it - not at all a "natural" thing, Brandon freaked out a little and Brianna was none too happy about it either - but hey I can't say as I blame them, it was VERY loud and like I said not at all a natural thing! We hiked up to the bridge part of the falls this time, another thing I have actually never done. The scenery is beautiful and a great place for pics. It is a shame Cody never gets out of the car to see the falls, but maybe, just maybe, some day he will appreciate it's beauty again....I think he saw it too much as a little kids with all the trips from Portland to Yakima to visit family. Looking back I don't quite know why I was soooo very homesick the summer and winter we lived in Portland, as I truly enjoy visiting Portland any chance I can get! All in all it was a very rewarding stop at Multanomah Falls, but then it is always very worth it to me, as Sis and Cody would say, I am easily excited!
